The Dark Knight

Ok, so went and saw TDK at the midnight release thing whatever. Anyway, so we got there two hours early and squished between a group of jocks and a group of wannabe jocks. There was a ball being tossed around, a six foot guy in a twelve year old kid's batman costume. V. entertaining . . . or so I'm told. I was reading.

Anyway, so I went to the regular theatre so sadly, didn't see the HBP trailer. :(

Now the movie itself. I liked the first movie but it was v. meh compared to this one. Intense as hell.

First was Heath Ledger. There was such a precise way he directed his words, a certain facial expression here and there, a sort of weird tick with his tongue, all of this made the Joker character much more than I've ever seen him. I always knew Mr. Ledger was a phenomenal actor but WOWEE.

Then of course there was Christian Slater, mumble mumble . . .

OH! Anthony Michael Hall! Anyone reading my journals might notice a trend: I've been watching TDZ episodes for a few weeks now. And Anthony Michael Hall is the star (He was also in The Breakfast Club--math geek--and Sixteen Candles--guy who got her underwears).

Well, AMH leaked that he was in TDK but couldn't say who his character was. He was under a contract from the production company. Then, on the internets, there is this thing of Gotham News Network or something like that. Well, there's AMH as Mike Engle, a news reporter/talk show host type person.

Who is Mike Engle, you ask? Nobody. Not in the comics.

So why all the secrecy? My theory is that he's going to be big, he's going to be someone in the next movie. Who will he be? No fucking clue. It'll probably be one of the villians who, in the comics, has little to no back story. I haven't read enough of the comics to figure out who this is.

Ok, I will do an actual review of TDK v. soon so look out for it. This is just me babbling.

E3 - God of War III and Trico

Edit: WOW. We just had a storm and lightning hit near my building! Took out the power with a sizzling sound and now it's all smokey outside. Freaky!

Alright! Have been watching G4's E3 cover for two days. Of course, I only cared about two things: God of War III and Trico.

That's not to say I wasn't happy about other things. I mean, the whole Netflix/360 partnership is fucking awesome and Fallout 3 looks fun as hell.

But earlier this year, as I am a slow noob, I was introduced to the beauty that is the God of War franchise. I mean, WOW. It mixed fighting, platforming, and puzzling along with graphics beyond the PS2's capabilities. WAY THE FUCK beyond. So I had high hopes for God of War III. And ZOMFG, the trailer (which is not online as of yet as it debuted just a few minutes ago)is just . . . YOU COULD SEE HIS SKIN. Like, I know it's not the actual game play but still. You could see the texture of Kratos's skin. As soon as that comes out, I am going to be THERE.

They did not show anything having to do with Trico, sadly. I wasn't a fan of Ico. I mean, even though it had awesome graphics and phenomenal lighting, I'm not into escort games. I absolutely LOVED Shadow of the Colossus, though. So whatever the working-named 'Trico' is, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

On another note, I forgot to mention Portal. There's a new Portal coming out. Which was, I must say, is the best thing not only of the Orange Box but of all games. Minus the two aforementioned.

I am sooooo excited. And to think, I'm predominantly a book person.

*sob* I HATE CHANGE.

Ok, I like how you can view your comments and shit without opening them. I like how you can search and choose to browse without going into a separate area. Ok, cool.

But, WHY ISN'T THE SEARCH BAR AT THE TOP??? It's WEIRD not being there. I'd be pretty ok with the new layout if the search bar was where the Gods intended.

Though the rest of it is a tad cluttered. Like, every page, even if you are just simply looking at a deviation, every page has a billion buttons on it.

Not good for a person with OCD who has to hit every damn button.

Maybe I'll get used to it. Maybe.

George Carlin Died at 71

I'm going to cry. I really am. It seems like ALL my favourite comedians are dropping off one by one. First, it was Mitch Hedberg and then Richard Jeni. Now, George Carlin is dead.

Ok, so the guy was old but STILL. I wanted to go to one of his stand-ups. I've loved the guy all my life. Now he's gone. Today. Like that.

For those who don't know who George Carlin is, go to Youtube and type in his name. Watch his shit; it's the most hilarious. 7 Dirty Words is probably his most famous.
